I live in Alabama and I am trying to become an actor.?

Alabama does not have much to offer in the form of acting or showbiz, but i was wondering the best way to find an agent or any type of acting jobs. Can I have an agent from another state or is it impossible? And also what is the best way to find open casting calls? Thank you
